Back to School Again by Sandi Dan, R.N., L.E. at Belleza in Wheaton, Illinois
Filed Under DuPage Medical Group News | Comments Off
It’s that time of the year. With all the fever of getting ready for the new school year, let’s not forget about your skin. If the summer months had your mind and your skin on a lousy schedule, you need to get back into a daily skin care routine that will make your skin look flawless.
Start with a good cleansing twice a day with an appropriate face wash for your skin type. A good cleansing product for the face should leave the skin refreshed, moist, and clean and should not strip out all the skin oils to make it feel uncomfortable dry. A toner should always follow the face wash as this will rehydrate your skin, balancing its own acid mantle (the skin pH). Then follow with a moisturizer. Even if it’s still warm outside, we still need to moisturize. Just make sure you’re choosing a sheer moisturizer more like a lotion or serum and save the creams for the winter months. Finish the morning routine with the sunscreen SPF 30 or higher.
At Belleza we offer treatments and products that will help your skin get back into good shape just in time for you and for your son or daughter to get ready for this fall season. Based upon your skin needs the esthetician will customize a treatment plan. Skin care education is also offered within the complimentary skin consultation.
For example, if you have a mild to moderate acne condition, treatments like Isolaz, chemical skin peels or acne healing facials will be recommended. Isolaz is an innovative laser acne treatment that combines a vacuum and a painless broad band light to deep cleanse and purify your pores from the inside out. It’s a good choice to treat acne without downtime. The chemical skin peel is a great option for not only an acne condition, but also for anti aging benefits. A superficial exfoliation (removal of the dead skin) is provided by applying on the skin a salicylic, a glycolic, or a blend of different acids that have the ability of fighting acne bacteria, calming the inflammation, cleansing the pores to even out the skin tone. Acne healing facials and acne extractions are treatment options for those individuals with skin congestion that need extractions. During these treatments black and white heads are removed individually with minimal discomfort and downtime.
And for those Moms free again when kids are back in school, this is a perfect time to get pampered after a summer-on-the go. Microdermabrasion, hydrafacials, chemical skin peels and photorejuvenation treatments are only a few examples of anti aging treatments that we offer here at Belleza.

Naperville Sun Recognizes Dr. Mark Fisher for Utilizing Robotic Surgery
Filed Under Physician & Health Articles, DuPage Medical Group News | Comments Off
Dr. Mark Fisher, an urologist with DuPage Medical Group, gave a demonstration, at the Edward Heart Hospital on Thursday, August 15, 2010. The demonstration illustrated the beneficial advancements of robotic enhanced surgeries, namely the ‘da Vinci Si Surgical System.’ Although Edward Heart Hospital has only been using the da Vinci since July, Dr. Fisher has been utilizing the system for a number of years. There are many benefits to using this machine for operations, such as shortened recovery, minimally invasive, less trauma to bodily organs and no lengthy scars. In addition the robotic machine is very accommodating toward the physician; the machine inhibits any hand tremors the physician may experience, which could harm the patient, also, the machine’s mobile eye piece and controls allow for the physician to sit comfortably through the procedure.

Dr. Steven Sigalove Featured in Glancer Magazine, August 2010
Filed Under DuPage Medical Group News | Comments Off
Board certified Plastic Surgeon, Steven Sigalove, M.D., F.A.C.S., was featured in the August issue of The Glancer Magazine, Glen Ellyn and Wheaton edition. His article titled, “Mommy Makeover” discusses breast augmentation and mastopexy, abdominoplasty, blepharoplasties, as well as other body contouring procedures that can be used to help a woman achieve her pre-pregnancy look that diet and exercise alone can’t achieve. Read the entire article below:
Mommy Makeover
If you’re a mother, you know that pregnancy permanently changes your body. Your abdominal skin and fat stretches, your abdominal muscles separate, your hips widen, and your breasts sag. When diet and exercise fail, the Mommy Makeover can reverse this inevitable process.
A breast augmentation (implants), mastopexy (lift), or a combination of these can reverse the effects of breast feeding and child rearing by replacing lost volume or repositioning the breast in the proper anatomical location to achieve a youthful and “perky” look.
An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) rids your body of the loose and redundant skin and fat of the abdominal region. The abdominal muscles are repaired along your midline as the abdominal wall is reconstructed to its pre-pregnancy state, achieving amazing tone and regaining that six-pack. This can be combined with ultrasonic liposuction of the “love handles,” back, inner or outer thighs to recontour and shape your entire body!
These body contouring procedures can be added to facial rejuvenating procedures such as Botox, Juvederm, and Radiesse injections or even a facelift, blepharoplasties (eyelid lifts), or liposuction of the neck.
All of these procedures are performed as an outpatient, with minimal postoperative pain and downtime. You’ll be working out within several weeks and will regain your pre-pregnancy body in no time! So if you are tired of looking flabby, droopy, or saggy, and sit-ups and Pilates are just not giving you the results you desire, consider a Mommy Makeover. Call 630-348-3000 for more information or to schedule a complimentary Mommy Makeover consultation this summer.
