DuPage Medical Group evolved from medical practices established by the area's leading physicians in the early 1960's. The group currently consists of more than 250 physicians - practicing from over 35 office locations and providing care to over 25% of the residents of DuPage County.

Working as a team of consultants and experts, we are focused on achieving the best results for our patients. Group History

The following factors combine to create a unique and attractive practice setting for physicians of all specialties:

Multi-Specialty Group

We believe we provide superior coordination of patient care by offering more specialties and services within DuPage Medical Group. This allows us greater control over quality and outcomes. We can also offer our patients more convenient access to the full range of services they may need.

Benefits of Size, without the Detriments

We have intentionally created an organization and a culture which delivers the support and services of a larger organization while still promoting the individual initiative and reward potential of a smaller organization. DuPage Medical Group is physician-owned and physician-governed with our doctors controlling a significant portion of their day-to-day practice patterns. They decide how many aspects of the practice will run such as patient treatment, scheduling, how phones are answered, and evaluation of key staff or peer issues specific to the site or department.

The group serves as a resource, not a center of control for most day to day physician issues. When issues do arise that require intervention by group leadership, management resources are available to achieve a successful resolution. It provides shared services such as physician and employee recruitment, billing and collection, managed care and insurance contracting, employee staffing and benefits, together with business leadership and planning.

Quality of Our Physicians

The quality of our physicians is second to none. We maintain this level of quality through a careful recruiting and selection process, ongoing mentoring, training, feedback and peer review.

Ask any staff member at the hospitals we serve, "Who would you want to take care of a family member?" The answer will most often include a DuPage Medical Group physician.

Our Market Strength

We care for approximately 25% of the residents of DuPage County, one of the most affluent communities in the nation. Because of the need to provide good coverage in DuPage County, insurers and employers desire to include DuPage Medical Group in their products in the Chicago area.

A Sustainable Business Model

In order to achieve our commitment to patient care, our physicians realize we must maintain a sustainable business model. This model must assure our viability and growth, and provide an economic philosophy that will attract and maintain the best physicians. We strive to continually manage the business in order to increase our efficiency and cost effectiveness without compromising patient care. This allows us to retain a portion of earnings to be reinvested in the business each year.

Our physician compensation philosophy is "People should be paid for what they do. Those specialties which require more resources should pay for them." This philosophy enabled us to develop a compensation plan deemed not only fair by both primary care physicians and specialists, but also competitive with single specialty practice.
